August 27, 2010 - "Viviers"

Viviers is a town waiting to be discovered. There were very few tourists present and only appeared to be those from the two river boats docked on the Rhone. I was able to photograph the village at different times - around dusk - shortly after sunrise - and late morning before lunch. This HDR image was shot about 11am local time with the camera steadied on a rock fence.

The village's history dates back to the 5th century when the Bishop of Alba decided to settle there. From the 12th to the 13th century, Viviers was part of the Roman Empire.
